Honoring the Life of Representative Mandi Ballinger

Today, we gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of our dear friend and colleague in the House, Representative Mandi Ballinger, who passed away on Sunday after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

For over a decade, Chairlady Ballinger served our state and her community with unwavering resilience and the utmost dedication. Her commitment to advocating on behalf of the most vulnerable among us, including children and survivors of domestic violence, has certainly left an indelible mark on countless lives across the entire state of Georgia and our nation.

While her leadership and impact extended far beyond the walls of the Capitol, Chairlady Ballinger will be greatly missed by everyone who had the profound honor of serving alongside her and all those whom she knew and loved.

Governor Brian Kemp issued an executive order for flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Chairlady Ballinger and her service to our state

Proverbs 29:18 tells us that, “where there is no vision, the people perish.” Chairlady Ballinger certainly had a great vision for our state—a vision that provided opportunity and hope for each one of our neighbors.

The House will carry her memory with us closely as we continue her work on behalf of the people of Georgia.

I ask you to join me and Dayle in lifting her family and loved ones up in prayer during the difficult days ahead.

God Bless,
Speaker Jon Burns
