Water Resources + Georgia's Constitutional Officers

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Dayle and me as we’ve traveled the state meeting with leaders, constituents, and advocacy groups about the issues most important to our state’s future.

Literacy Meeting with Chancellor Sonny Perdue

Last week, Dayle and I joined Chancellor Sonny Perdue, university presidents, and education deans from higher education institutions across the state to discuss literacy and teacher preparation.

Our educators are on the front lines of helping our state tackle the literacy crisis, and the House remains committed to providing them with every resource necessary to ensure their success in the classroom.

Constitutional Officers Annual Conference

On Monday, I was excited to join the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia for its annual conference in Savannah.

This incredible group of elected officials works tirelessly on behalf of the communities they represent across the state. Whether they are overseeing legal matters in the courtroom or stewarding the hard-earned dollars of Georgia’s taxpayers, their influence and the decisions they make are shaping the future of our entire state for generations to come.

Water Resources Committee Hearing

Over the last several years, Georgia has witnessed historic economic success, job growth, and investment in every corner of the state. Much of this can be attributed to our vast network of critical resources, including water.

There is no resource more important to the quality of life of every Georgian than water, and that’s why the House Special Committee on Resource Management has been working to develop a comprehensive water resource management plan that addresses both the short and long-term needs of Georgia’s water supply.

I want to thank Chairman Chas Cannon and the members of the committee for their work, and I look forward to ensuring Georgia’s resources remain strong, resilient, and accessible for generations to come.

Dayle and I couldn’t be prouder of our grandson, who celebrated his Senior Night at last Friday’s football game. Congratulations, Jon David!

The House will gather back under the Gold Dome in just 10 short weeks, and we hope to hear from each of you as we prepare for another great legislative session in 2026.
