Sharing our Winning Message

On Monday, Americans across the country remembered and honored the heroes who gave the last full measure of devotion to defend the freedoms and liberty we cherish. Dayle and I had the opportunity to attend several Memorial Day events throughout the district and speak with members of the community who tirelessly advocate for our Gold Star families and veterans.

We owe these heroes and their families a debt of gratitude that can never fully be repaid, and we’re thankful for the individuals across the state who offer their unwavering dedication to ensuring the well-being of our military members.

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Sharing our Winning Message

The House Majority Caucus has been traveling across the state, sharing our winning message and legislative victories from the 2026 session with our communities and constituents.

From increasing access to healthcare, investing in quality education, and championing literacy to passing another historic tax rate reduction, returning money to taxpayers, and making our communities safer—we listened and delivered on the issues that matter most to our fellow Georgians.

It was great to join Chairwoman Leesa Hagan, Chairman Matt Hatchett, Chairman Clint Crowe, and Representative Lehman Franklin in Vidalia as they shared these accomplishments with their constituents and looked forward to the 2026 election cycle, where we’re confident our record of success will resonate with voters at the ballot box across the state.

Georgia Licensed Professional Counselors

Yesterday, I joined members of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association in Savannah to discuss the legislation we passed this year to support their work and continue strengthening access to mental healthcare.

Whether it’s providing funding for school counselors, increasing opportunities for healthcare education, streamlining the licensing process, or supporting individuals facing a mental health crisis—increasing access to mental healthcare for Georgians of every age in every corner of the state has been, and will continue to be, a top priority for the Georgia House.

The work we’ve accomplished to advance that mission would not be possible without the dedication of our mental healthcare providers here in Georgia, and we can’t thank them enough for the work they do every day to help their fellow Georgians.

Thank you all for your continued friendship and support. I look forward to hearing from each of you throughout the interim about the issues and policies that matter most to you and your families.

My best,
Speaker Jon Burns
