Georgia Pre-K Week + Early Voting
Each October, we celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week and recognize the important role early education and childhood literacy play in setting our youngest learners up for success. Dayle and I celebrated by visiting Pre-K students in the district for a read-along and conversation about why learning to read is not only fun, but an important part of a happy and successful future.
This year, the Georgia House passed landmark early literacy legislation that will transform the way Georgia students learn to read in the classroom, provide funding for a literacy coach in every K-3 elementary school, strengthen literacy curriculum and teacher preparation, and ensure our schools are using science-based literacy instruction. This was just the beginning of our work to ensure every child can read on grade level by the time they leave third grade.
We know that the foundation for literacy begins long before a child ever steps into a classroom. That’s why next year, we’re going to focus on strengthening literacy resources for parents and families with young children, giving them the tools to provide the critical language nutrition children need during their earliest years.
Thank you to all of our incredible Pre-K teachers across the state who work every day to prepare Georgia’s children for a successful start in kindergarten and beyond.
Dayle and I enjoyed reading to a great group of Pre-K students in Statesboro this week.
SAF Coalition Launch
Forestry is the backbone of communities and economies across the Southeast. As this critical industry faces unprecedented challenges, I couldn’t be more proud of the work being done by businesses and partners across our state to create new market opportunities for Georgia forest products and support the hardworking men and women who depend on this industry.
On Wednesday, I joined agriculture, business, and community leaders for the launch of the Georgia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Coalition. This newly formed partnership brings together some of Georgia’s largest businesses, our agriculture and forestry industries, rural communities, and Metro Atlanta around a historic opportunity for our state.
Sustainable aviation fuel represents an exciting new market for Georgia forest products, and we’re proud to be leading the way in researching, developing, and manufacturing these products right here in Georgia.
The House looks forward to working alongside the SAF Coalition and continuing to champion policies that keep forestry thriving for generations to come.

Supporting Georgia’s Statewide Candidates
This week, I hit the campaign trail with members of the Georgia House and nominees for statewide office.
Georgia’s constitutional officers and statewide leaders play a critical role in our efforts to lower taxes, make life more affordable, defend our freedoms, and ensure every Georgian has the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
That’s why I hope you’ll join me in supporting commonsense conservative leaders up and down the ballot this election cycle. Early voting begins next week on October 13, so make a plan to cast your ballot and make your voice heard as we work to keep Georgia moving in the right direction!
You can find your early voting location at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Great to be with my friend, Rick Jackson, who will keep Georgia the best state for business while providing opportunity for all Georgians to prosper. He’ll lead on literacy, jobs training and improving healthcare access.
