Economic Development + Rural Healthcare Association
This week, Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Economic Development announced another year of growth and success in FY 2025. Between July 1, 2024, and June 30 of this year, businesses and communities across the state witnessed 423 facility expansions and new locations. These expansions and new facilities represent more than $26.3 billion in investment, another historic record, and over 23,000 new private-sector jobs coming to Georgia over the next few years.
I was proud to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of one of those new facilities in Rincon, Georgia. Last week, MEDLOG gathered with local and state leaders as they officially opened their state-of-the-art cold storage facility—the largest of its kind in the nation. This incredible investment is expected to create over 100 new jobs for hardworking Georgians and generate over $65 million in economic impact for our state.
I was also excited to join a host of state leaders in Social Circle earlier this week to break ground on Rivian’s newest manufacturing facility here in Georgia. When fully operational, Rivian will create over 7,500 career opportunities and produce more than 400,000 vehicles annually. We’re grateful for Rivian’s unwavering commitment to our state and look forward to a successful partnership for generations to come.

Georgia Rural Health Association
Increasing access to quality, affordable healthcare for every Georgian—regardless of their ZIP Code—has been, and will continue to be, a top priority for the House. That’s why I was excited to join the Georgia Rural Health Association earlier this week to update its members on the work we’ve done in the House to champion healthcare across the state.
From increasing opportunities for medical education and strengthening physician recruitment programs to supporting growing families by investing in maternal healthcare, we remain committed to ensuring Georgians in every corner of the state have access to the care they need when they need it most.
