Remembering the Life and Legacy of Charlie Kirk
Earlier this week, the United States lost one of the greatest voices for the conservative movement in this generation in an evil and despicable act of politically motivated violence.
Charlie Kirk was a devout man of faith, loving husband, and devoted father. He dedicated his life to sharing truth and encouraging open discourse—regardless of which side of the aisle you came from.
No one was as instrumental in championing the conservative movement among America’s youth, and his legacy will live on through all those he inspired. Dayle and I are praying for Charlie’s wife and two young children as they face this heartbreaking loss.
Now is the time for every American to unite in our resolve to put an end to political violence and hatred of any kind wherever it exists.
I was proud to issue the following resolution on Thursday commemorating a life well lived and a legacy that will certainly endure for generations to come.
Remembering September 11th, 2001
Twenty-four years ago, our nation watched in horror as the largest terrorist attack in American History tragically claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people.
Yesterday, we remembered those who were lost and honored the heroes who selflessly ran into danger to help their fellow man. Now more than ever, it is imperative that each of us commits to renewing the spirit of unity that brought us together as Americans after that fateful day.

The forestry industry has been ingrained in the families, communities, and economy of South Georgia for generations. Recent mill closures throughout the region have dealt an unexpected blow not only to those directly impacted by job loss, but to nearly 6,000 other individuals whose livelihoods are indirectly impacted by the loss of these facilities.
On Wednesday, the House Rural Development Committee convened with state leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders in Douglas, Georgia, for the first of many discussions to come regarding short- and long-term solutions for Georgia’s forestry industry.
We remain fully committed to providing every possible resource and leaving no stone unturned when it comes to securing the future success of one of our most critical industries and our communities across South Georgia.
Speaking at the House Rural Development Committee’s meeting regarding mill closures across South Georgia
I hope that each of us will take time this weekend to pray for God’s comfort and peace to find all those who are mourning, and that His hand would guide each of us toward greater unity as a nation.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
