Remembering 9/11 + Effingham Early Literacy

Today, our nation comes together to remember the Americans who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We also honor the memory of the brave first responders who ran toward danger and the countless citizens who faced the aftermath of that tragic day with courage and unity.

May we strengthen our resolve to carry forward the love for our nation that brought us together in the days and months that followed.

Effingham County is Rooted in Literacy

This week, Dayle and I had the opportunity to take part in a new early literacy initiative in Effingham County. The district-wide initiative, “Effingham County Is Rooted in Literacy,” will feature a video series providing families with simple, engaging ways to better understand and support literacy development at home.

Bridging the gap between the classroom and the homes of children across the district is one of the most important steps we can take to build strong, confident readers and lifelong learners. These videos will provide parents with simple explanations and activities they can put into practice at home to reinforce what their children are learning in the classroom, setting them up for success in school and beyond.

Keeping More Money in Your Pockets

Georgia House Republicans have delivered on our commitment to help hardworking Georgians keep more of their money where it belongs—in their pockets. And we aren’t done yet.

In 2026 alone, Georgia Republicans have saved or returned more than $4 billion to taxpayers through the suspension of the gas tax, historic property tax relief for homeowners, income tax rebates, and continued income tax rate cuts.

This year, the average Georgia family can expect to pay 55% less in state income taxes than they did in 2018. And we were proud to build on that progress by passing legislation to lower Georgia’s income tax rate even further. Once the rate reaches 3.99%, Georgia families could see their income tax burden reduced by as much as 95% compared to 2018, putting more money back into their pockets and delivering even greater savings in the years ahead.

We are committed to building on our efforts to help Georgia families earn more and pay less by lowering the cost of living, creating greater economic opportunity, and ensuring hardworking Georgians keep more of what they earn.
