Bulloch County to Receive Rural Site Development Grant
Georgia’s business-friendly environment has attracted billions of dollars in investments, thousands of good-paying jobs, and unprecedented opportunities for Georgians in every corner of our great state. This historic success is no accident. It is the direct result of our leadership's decades-long dedication to strengthening our workforce, investing in our infrastructure, and building a better, brighter future for every Georgian.
One way the General Assembly is proud to support this continued success is through the OneGeorgia Authority's Rural Site Development Grants. Since this program began, over $18 million has been awarded to rural communities across the state to help them identify, assess, and develop new industrial sites.
This year, the Development Authority of Bulloch County was awarded a grant of $1,518,920 to bring more good-paying jobs to the citizens of Bulloch County and Southeast Georgia. Coastal Georgia is an economic powerhouse for our state, and as our region grows, we’re hopeful that investments like this will allow our communities to continue succeeding.
The Rural Site Development Grants represent our state's unwavering commitment to bringing new opportunities for economic success to every corner of the state, and I look forward to seeing the impact these awards will have on rural Georgia communities and citizens for generations to come.
South Georgia Superintendent’s Conference
Earlier this week, I joined Chairman Chris Erwin at the South Georgia Superintendents’ Annual Conference to discuss the legislation the House passed during the 2025 Legislative Session to strengthen school safety, increase literacy rates, and ensure every child has access to quality education.
The House passed a number of bills this year that we believe do just that, but our top priority this legislative session was to deliver on our promise to secure our schools.
I couldn’t be more proud of each and every member who worked tirelessly to pass our comprehensive school safety bill—HB 268.
This bill is a historic piece of legislation for our state that strengthens physical security infrastructure at our schools, increases student access to mental health resources, mandates clearer communication between our school districts, and toughens penalties for terroristic threats against our schools and our children.
Our superintendents were great partners in supporting the House as we developed these policies following last year’s tragedy at Apalachee High School, and we’re grateful for their continued partnership as we remain committed to ensuring every student in our state can learn in a safe and secure environment.

We’ll be traveling the state conducting study committees, speaking with professional organizations, and hearing from constituents throughout the rest of the interim. I hope I’ll get the opportunity to speak with each of you about the issues you care about most before the General Assembly reconvenes in January.
My best,
