Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

As we gather with friends and family today, I hope we all find a moment to reflect on everything that we have to be grateful for and the many things that make Georgia the best place in the nation to call home.

From the mountains of North Georgia to the wetlands and beaches on our pristine coastline, we’re blessed to live in a state with an abundance of natural treasures that we can all enjoy.

Our economy continues to thrive, with new, good-paying job opportunities coming to every corner of our state and strengthening affordability for Georgia families.

We’re fortunate to have school systems and higher education institutions that are preparing our young people for the great things that lie ahead for each of them.

Every day, our law enforcement officers and heroes in uniform serve selflessly to protect our communities and keep our families safe from harm.

Our leaders continue to put the people of Georgia first, passing policies and leading with integrity to build a better, brighter future for each one of our neighbors.

I have a lot to be thankful for personally as well.

It is truly the honor of a lifetime to serve my home district, and I’m grateful for the friendship and support shown to me by each citizen of the 159th District.

I’m also thankful for the continued trust and confidence that my colleagues place in me to lead the House as their Speaker.

None of this would be possible without the unconditional support and encouragement of my family. My wife, Dayle, my sons, and my five grandchildren are my greatest source of strength and inspiration, and the reason I am able to continue serving our great state.

Above all, I am thankful to serve a living Savior, who continues to bless our nation, our state, and our people. May we continue to strive to honor Him as we do what Georgians do best—love our neighbors.

God bless,

Speaker Jon Burns
