Greater Georgia Next250 + Southern Legislative Conference
It’s been a busy week meeting with constituents and advocacy groups from throughout Georgia, as well as our fellow legislative colleagues from across the South at the 2026 Southern Legislative Conference in Kentucky.
From Atlanta to Kentucky, it has been great spending time with so many friends as we discussed the policies, priorities, and ideas that will keep Georgia—and the entire Southeast—moving in the right direction.
Greater Georgia Next 250
We wrapped up last week in Atlanta with our friends and Republican grassroots activists at Greater Georgia’s Next250 event. I was honored to share the stage with Congressman Brian Jack as we reflected on our nation’s founding and discussed what it will take to preserve freedom, opportunity, and prosperity for generations to come.
We also heard from Greater Georgia founder and Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration Kelly Loeffler, who shared valuable insight into the upcoming election cycle and the incredible work being done by grassroots activists across our state.
We’re grateful for Greater Georgia’s continued efforts to engage and mobilize Republicans across Georgia, and we look forward to working alongside them to get voters to the polls this November.

Southern Legislative Conference
Members of the Georgia House traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, this week for the 2026 Southern Legislative Conference. This annual event brings together legislative leaders and officials from across the South to discuss the challenges facing our region and the collective solutions that will keep our states strong and thriving.
I was honored to officially begin my term as Chair of CSG South for 2026–2027, and I look forward to welcoming this incredible group of fellow legislators, staff, and advocates to Georgia next year. We’re excited to showcase all our great state has to offer as Savannah hosts the 2027 Southern Legislative Conference.

Georgia Association of Educational Leaders
Earlier this week, Dayle had the opportunity to speak to more than 1,400 superintendents, principals, and educators from across our great state at the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders’ annual conference in Savannah.
Dayle has been an inspiration and partner for the House as we’ve championed landmark education policies over the last several years, especially this year’s historic Georgia Early Literacy Act.
Her message to these leaders was that policy can create generational change for Georgia’s students, but lasting success will require all of us working together. The real difference will be made when our communities, churches, businesses, and individuals work together to help ensure every child enters kindergarten ready to learn.

Thank you for your continued support, friendship, and encouragement as we continue working to make our state an even better place for each of our neighbors.
Have a great weekend, and I look forward to seeing you around the district soon.
My best,
Speaker Jon Burns
